Every custom request begins with a feasibility review. We consider the artwork, finished dimensions, level of detail, leather thickness, mold type, intended product, and available pressing equipment. Fine lines or crowded details may need adjustment so the finished metal mold releases cleanly and produces a readable leather impression.
One-Piece or Two-Piece Leather Embossing Mold?
One-Piece 3D Stamp Mold
A one-piece mold presses the design from one side. It is suitable for many logos, decorative motifs, animal designs, patches, wallet panels, and projects where a strong single-sided impression is required.
Two-Piece Male and Female Mold
A two-piece mold uses matching male and female parts to form the leather between them. It can create deeper dimensional relief, but accurate alignment and controlled, even pressure are essential.

Vector artwork is helpful but not always required. A clean, high-resolution image may be enough for an initial review. We will explain if the design needs to be simplified or adjusted before production.
Leather Pressing and Machine Requirements
Leather pressing molds need flat and even pressure. Larger molds generally require more force and a more stable setup than small stamps. Many projects are best suited to a hydraulic press, but the exact pressure depends on the mold dimensions, relief, leather thickness, moisture, machine, and desired depth. Test first on scrap vegetable-tanned leather and increase pressure gradually.
Two-piece molds must be aligned carefully before pressure is applied. Thicker vegetable-tanned leather often holds deeper detail more effectively; thinner leather may require a suitable backing or cushioning layer depending on the design.
